Okay, you guys of the Class of '67, lets get some discussion going on here.  We were a generation that sparked a lot of change and saw a lot of history, let's share a little of those insights here.  I am sure some of you have stories that need to be shared.  You were a dynamic group I am sure, and I am sure that dynamism continued through the years.  So, let's start connecting with the stories.  There has to be some real interesting and inspiring ones out there.  Go Vikings '67!!

The REAL words of the song loui loui (sp) being passed around to everyone.

the circus at the hoods dairy.

coach kim alsop and coach john mclay

The contest to change the words to the Vikings fight song.

Oh yes, I remember the day of the Kennedy assassination. I remember the shock of that day.  Couldn't believe it. Was glued to the TV for the next week.

And thanks for jogging my memory with the names of the coaches there at NeHi.

On Facebook, Jim Valenty, class of '68, has recently posted a bunch of great pictures of a recent NEHI SPORTS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION.  There are pictures of John McLay, Ed Evans and Lee Benjamin from that night, as well as some familiar athletes from our time.  I'm going to try to put some up on this site as I get the time.

If you belong to Facebook, you can be my Facebook friend and from there find Jim and our new Facebook group called NEHI FRIENDS - 1965-1970.   Ann Van de Steeg has recently put up some pictures of Sports-A-Rama!

Oh yes, the wonderful Madras shirts!!  Had several of them.  The "coolest" wore them.  As for Penny Loafers, also had several pairs of those.  Remember the shirts with the little loops in the back?  Now those were the "thing".  I actually still have one in the closet.  Okay, laugh!  Also the Velour shirts.  I have one in the closet that was given to me for Christmas either in junior of senior year.  Loved that thing.  It is Bright Red and still wearable.  Okay, that is weird I know!  The McDonald's I remember, now someone help us with the location.  Remember walking over to GrandWay, where the Winn Dixie, Rutland plaza is now.  Shopped over there all the time.  And of course, there was Gateway Mall over on 9th.

The McDonalds and the 7-11 were on 62nd across the street from Grandway.  I think the McDonalds is now a restaurant of some kind and there is a Subway and an Amscot where 7-11 was.
