Walter Shelton

WALTER R. "WALLY," SHELTON, 39, of Pinellas Park, died Tuesday (March 22, 1988) at University General Hospital, after a short illness. He came here in 1959 from his native St. Louis. He was a registered nurse at Mease Countryside Hospital and University General Hospital and formerly was with De Soto Memorial Hospital, Arcadia. Locally, he was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and was a graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College, School of Nursing. He was a member of National Nurses Association, Florida Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association and American Association of Critical Care Nurses. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War; and was a member of American Legion Post 400, Orlando. Survivors include his mother, Bernice E. Shelton, Pinellas Park; a brother, Roy B. Jr., Buckner, Mo.; two sisters, Iro T. Fortney, Seminole and Mardell Morris, St. Petersburg; and nieces and nephews.
