JAMES, MARTHA F. "MARTY", 79, of Indian Shores and formerly St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (Aug. 23, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She was born in Louisville, Ky., and moved to St. Petersburg in 1958 from Jeffersontown, Ky. She moved from St. Petersburg to Indian Shores in 1984. She was a 1942 graduate of Hanover College, Indiana, and a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She taught English and literature at Northeast High School from 1960 to 1985 and at Pinellas Park JuniorHigh. She was on the Indian Shores Town Council from 1986 to 1988. She was a Methodist, a life member of Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Panhellenic Association and Indian Shores Women's Club. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Lynn Mineo, Pinellas Park; two sons, Doc Hemberger, Arlington, Texas, and John Rod Hemberger, North Port, a sister, Lucille Dale, Penny Farms; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
