I remember Mike as far back as the 6th grade . He was a very friendly and very funny guy. He cared about his family and his friends. I am sure he will be sorely missed. RIP Mike.

PANEGYRIC FOR A CLASS-ACT CLASSMATE
                          or
PATHWAYS TO FRIENDSHIP

Michael and I sang together in choir at NEHI.

We became lifelong friends.
He was the Best Man in both of my weddings.

His son, Christopher, is my Godson.

Eventually, we both moved from the St. Petersburg area.
Michael relocated to Tallahassee, and later decrying the limited opportunities of the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX, metroplex, espied the virtues of the Grand Saline megalopolis, landing in it's (very) sequestered suburbs.

My wife, Keri, and I moved to Pensacola.

Over the years we had the blessing of hosting Michael and, Remi(ngton), his feminine canine companion, in our home on his trips to St. Petersburg, and, on his return.
Remi became friends (sort of) with our (usually) estrogen-free, mini-menagerie.  Complicated only by having Remi visiting our feline, Renni.  Not that either one responds immediately  when called.  Gibson, our male Boston Terrier, commands our undivided attention, but since Remi is not demanding, Gibson tolerates her well.

Fortunately for us, Michael stayed with us for two weeks this past Christmas and New Year's, and again on a trip to St. Petersburg, and his return, in June.
He was to come again two weeks ago but that trip was (now, permanently) postponed.

Unfortunately, there will be no more visits.

You could say Michael was one of a kind.  However, I believe that could be said for each of the five siblings.  What a joy it has been being a part of this wonderful family these past five decades.

Good bye, Dear Friend.
